First of all---hello to so many new readers! The Project Life Summer Bucket List blog post has gotten lots of love! I think that all of us try to be intentional with our time in the summer and finding a cute way to help us follow through helps to keep us on track!
If you're a new blog subscriber...welcome! I'm blessed you came back. I know there are millions of blogs out there and limited time to look at them. One of my goals of this blog is to be authentic. So, here's me being authentic!
Though I created a cute bucket list that decorates one wall of my son's playroom I have another bucket list that's not so cute. This bucket list includes a laundry list of organization projects, healthy eating goals, weight loss goals, doctor appointments that need to be scheduled, and ways I want to challenge myself spiritually.
I'm a teacher and summer vacation seems like the perfect time to attack all of those overflowing closets, drawers, and cabinets. The reality is, however, that I have a 3 year old who I want to spend a lot of time with and other hobbies I'd much rather spend time working on...Project Life anyone?? oh, and a nap every couple days would be awesome too!
In an effort to not wear myself out, to spend time checking off our fun bucket list, and to be intentional about my time, I'm going to be getting up at 6:00 each morning...during summer break...I know, what is wrong with me??? Here's the deal...my son wakes up at 6:45. If I want any time with my sweet Jesus before I begin my day, I must wake up before him.
I'll also be using my Simplified Planner to create a flexible schedule for each day. If I don't schedule my time, it gets away from me, and I end my day feeling frustrated and unproductive.
On my schedule for this week is to deep clean my kitchen. My kitchen is the heart of my home. If my kitchen is organized and clean I feel like I can conquer the world. We moved into our house almost 3 years ago and I haven't cleaned out the cabinets since then. I know I have all kinds of unused stuff hiding in them and I want to lighten my load. I'll be donating everything that's in good condition to our church's brand new ministry, StoreHouse.
For my friends who think my house is always immaculate...here's proof that it's not! We'll call this the starting photo...now, it's time for me to get to work!
and the pantry...oh, mercy!
When you get done would you come do mine because I've run out of energy!
