Our family enjoyed Spring Break from March 8-16. The first weekend we were in San Antonio with Brian's brother's family. It was a cold, damp weekend, but we still had fun staying at the condo and just spending time together.
We left Houston pretty late....on our way out of town we stopped for dinner and then to Target because we needed some necessities** like pull-ups, a new blanket for K (since I left his at home), a Chuggington dvd, and a couple of new trains. *I use the term necessities very loosely here, except of course for the pull ups!
Then we were officially on the road (photo taken with iphone)
The next morning Karsten and Braedon enjoyed hanging out together
We headed to the Witte Museum to fight cabin fever.
Outside the Witte
The next morning Karsten and Aunt Shanda made pancakes...this boy loves to help in the kitchen!
Sunday was our 12th Anniversary!!!! We all went out for some cali-mex food and I snapped this picture of my darling hubby! He's the best guy I know. I love him so much!
Karsten loves his Aunt Shanda....and he looks like a 10 year old in this picture (sniff!)
Sleepy boy
On Monday it finally cleared up enough that we could go to Sea World. We all love that place so much!
Dolphins have always been my favorite sea animal. I loved getting so close to this pool of dolphins. They were really active and posing for pictures. I'm pretty convinced that one of them intentionally splashed me right in the face. My bangs were wet for an hour afteward! Karsten thought it was hilarious that the dolphin splashed Mommy!
Then we headed into the huge aquarium and shark tank. There were two scuba divers in the aquarium. Karsten was fascinated.
I always feel a little sorry for Clown Fish....they will forever be called Nemo!
Within the first 5 minutes of being inside Sea World Karsten had a new friend, a dolphin. He had been asking for a dolphin for a week before going to Sea World. I'm pretty sure I had a very similar dolphin from Sea World when I was a kid! He held onto it all day long!
While at Azul, the dolphin/beluga whale/acrobatic show Uncle Chris bought cotton candy. It was Karsten's first time to enjoy this sugary treat! He loved it of course!!!
Franklin the Turtle was visiting the playground while we were there. It's the first time Karsten has wanted to visit with a costumed character. We both love the Franklin books!
We ended our day at Sea World at the Sea Lion show. Karsten had been wanting to see a Sea Otter all day. I'm serious when I say that he talks about ocean animals all the time. He knows the names of many of them including Leafy Sea Dragon, Sea Horse, Dolphin, Sea Otter, etc....granted he still calls fish, "ish!"
He fell asleep in the car very quickly and we headed back to Houston to continue our Spring Break at home!
