Last week Karsten participated in a VBS (vacation Bible school) at a local church. Back in April when I found out they were taking 2 year olds I signed him up asap!! He absolutely loved going to "school" each day and always had a smile on his face at drop off and pick up. His teachers said he was the consistently the happiest one. I hope this means that in the Fall when we begins M-F, full day Mother's Day Out he will continue to be the happiest kid in the room.
Each day they studied different ways that believers can STAND STRONG for God's Kingdom. They sent home this picture on Thursday and it melted my heart. He's getting so big and the teachers said he was the only one who smiled for the camera...yep, that's my kid!!
On Friday they had an assembly that parents were invited to. I knew where he would be sitting, so I sat close so I could get some photos of him. I managed a few photos and then he saw me and it was all over....he wouldn't leave my side for the rest of the time. I think he was just worn out from all the fun and wanted his Mama. It will be interesting when he goes to school where I'll be teaching in the fall...I may have to stay out of his sight for the first few days otherwise I think I might have a 2 year old stuck to my side.
Here he is sitting so nicely before he saw me...and can I just say how happy I am that we took the pacifier away at 18 months. There were several kids in his class that were still taking a pacifier. Good grief!
