There are so many special (and not so special) little stories that make up my day. As a SAHM (for a couple more months) the days can be long trying to keep my 2 year old entertained. Summer has settled over Houston for the duration, but we continue to spend time outside blowing bubbles, playing with sidewalk chalk, splashing in water, digging in dirt, etc. Yesterday Karsten was outside and I was in the kitchen working on dinner. I noticed him sitting on the step from the kitchen to the patio playing with a bottle of bubbles. The next thing I knew he walked in, opened the drawer when I keep the washclothes, and he walked right over to where he'd been sitting to wipe up a spill. I stood there stunned, yet thrilled. We've been working on cleaning up our messes. I grabbed my camera in an effort to capture the moment, but all I got was this (him walking outside leaving the washcloth on the floor where had wiped up the bubble spill.
It's not a great photo, but it tells a story. That's what I'm trying to do more and more with my photography...tell a story about the little moments that make up our days.
This photo tells the story of how Karsten loves to get the ripening tomatoes off the window sill and carry them around the house. He's pretty gentle with them and puts them back where they belong...after of course, pretending their ear muffs.
