I was so touched by everyone who came...everyone who has welcomed Karsten into our circle with open arms and loving hearts. One thing I've been asked by our adoption agency is how are family and friends feeling about our adoption of Karsten. All I can say is that everyone adores him and views him as the miracle he is.
Here's a run down of some of my favorite people and favorite photos of that day...
tia Lily --"Aunt" Lily who is a dear friend of mine and who after watching our adoption process has decided along with her husband that they will be adopting a girl to add to their 3 boys!!!! Yippee!
Aunt Molly, Mami, Chelsea and Suzanne, who is expecting a son in September.
My friend Denise who I taught with last year and who I discussed Twilight, Glee, and a myriad of other things with on a daily basis. We are very different, yet so much alike!
My cousin Kate who drove in from San Antonio and who took care of Karsten during most of the shower...this girl LOVES babies!!! and she's a pediatric nurse, so she's full of answers to my questions.
As I was opening gifts my cousin Jessica was holding Karsten and he spit up (a common occurence in our life right now) Nicole, the gorgeous daughter of family friends, jumped up and grabbed a burp cloth to wipe Karsten's mouth and I'm pretty sure Karsten fell in love at first sight. He had been so quiet the entire shower and then when he saw Nicole he began cooing and gooing, and doing everything in his power to keep this beautiful girl's attention. He got everyone's attention as he continued his flirting for several minutes. We were all cracking up. Nicole is going to Medical School this Fall and I think she needs to consider Pediatrics....
I think he might like blondes!!!
my friend Jessica who dropped everything about 10 weeks ago to meet me at Babies R Us and filled my cart with all the necessities....she's also full of wisdom. Her words of wisdom card said let him say Dada first then when he's awake in his crib early in the morning he'll call for dada, not mama.
Becki, our life group leader, and Linda, Carrie Beth's Mom
There were no games (thank God) but there was tie dying onesies and small t-shirts. They turned out SO cute I have a blog post coming soon with the finished products. **this is a great idea for baby showers**
CB and Me....gosh I'm going to miss this girl when she returns to Germany in July!
Kate and Emma who came from San Antonio...Emma and Karsten are my grandparent's 2 great grandchildren!
Texas Cousins
