This past weekend my 3 best friends from college came to Houston for a weekend of relaxing, reminiscing, and memory making. To be really honest, I didn't take that many pictures. Maybe it was because I was in my own home visiting places that I frequent or maybe it was because I just wanted to relax and visit without the pressure of capturing the perfect shot. I did capture a few good photos and tried to hand off my camera at times so I could be in a few photos.
After picking Becky and Dawn up at the airport Christie (who had driven in from Louisiana) and I went to get Mexican food, something they were craving. Gringo's was just the place and I assured them that it was Tex-Mex and they would be able to read the menu! One of the first things they asked me when they got in the car was if Houston has palm trees, to which I said "yes!". Later reflected on this conversation and remembered when I lived in the midwest and would vacation in Houston or on South Padre and seeing the palm trees meant vacation to me. Now I see palm trees every single day...
We came back to my house, I gave them the tour, showed them where to find things and let them know "mi casa e su casa" (my house is your house).
The next day we had brunch and then headed to northwest Houston to a nice outlet mall. We each came home with a few things.
We ended up eating at Zio's because Kemah was way too crowded for dinner.
We headed out Saturday morning for pedicures, the ultimate in relaxation.
and then to brunch at Mimi's cafe and time at my aunt's pool
by 4:30 we headed back to my house for dinner and a movie (or two). I rented Shag, our favorite movie to watch in college, and we also watched The Proposal.
After church on Sunday I took them to Kemah, since we weren't able to go Friday night.
Landry's has been remodeled since Ike, note where the water had reached during Ike...
and then back to my house, for a few last shots
Thanks for the memories girls....
