advent conspriacy

the you tube video below was played at our church yesterday...I LOVED it...I loved how simple it was, yet how profound it was.  Although, I don't consider myself an activist I do believe that this can make a difference.  I  believe in the power of words, I love words, I cling to words, and I let words define my life (such as my word of the year).  Brian and I decided that we're going to join the advent conspiracy this year.  We're going to make a budget of what we would spend, then I'm going to make 90% of our gifts this year, and whatever we have left over we're going to send to Starfish Kenya (a orphanage and school that our church started and sponsors.)  If you feel like making all of your gifts is extreme and you enjoy buying gifts (as I do) then maybe cut everything in half.  If you would normally spend $300 on  your kids then only spend $150.  One of my best friends Becky and her husband only give their each of their children 3 gifts at Christmas.  It represents the 3 gifts that the wisemen brought to the baby Jesus.  And you know how many things that relatives give to your kids...it's not like they're lacking.   So if you want to join the advent conspiracy then here are some links of great Christian organizations that work on creating healthy water world wide  living water, and advent conspiracy.  I'm sure there are more out there, these are just the ones I"m familiar with. Get involved...you can make a difference....be at part of the Advent Conspiracy.
