boy oh boy did we have some serious rain the past few days. yesterday we received 8 inches, and that didn't include the rain from the day and night before (i don't think anyways). I did have to get out in it briefly...a quick trip to Walgreens...but otherwise I stayed inside, worked on some scrapbooking, did some laundry, cleaned, made chili, read....it was one of those days I was thankful I didn't have to go to work :) Brian on the other hand did go to work. He headed home around 5:00 and made it about 1 1/2 miles from our house only to find the streets flooded. (Not surprising it only takes a few drops of rain to make Houston streets flood...much less 24+ hours of straight rain!) He hung out at the local Kroger's until the streets drained and made it home around 8:30. Poor guy.
not too much going on today...started reading Max Lucado's book Come Thirsty. It's really good. Max has a gift for making spiritual things so easy to understand. Here are some thoughts from Max to you and me:
*water somehow knows where to go. Jesus knows the same. Like, water, Jesus won't come in uless swallowed. That is, we must willingly surrender to his lordship.
*four essentials fluids for soul hydration: God's Work, God's Energy, his lordship, and his love. This prayer is easy to remember...just think of the word W-E-L-L.
