A few weekends ago I boarded a plane by myself and jetted off to Panama City Beach. There I met up with my 3 best friends from college, Becky, Dawn, and Christie (aka Weeza). We were celebrating a BIG b-day that Weeza had recently had and that the rest of us will be having in 2015.
It was the perfect weekend away. I loved the white sandy beaches of Florida's panhandle so much that when I returned home I booked a week's stay for our family vacation this summer.
Our first selfie :)
Once we settled into our gorgeous condo we headed down the elevator and out to the beach. We were lucky enough to have lounge chairs set up for us and we got to work on relaxing.
Then we headed to dinner at Pineapple Willies which sat right on the beach. We chatted, ate, and watched the sun set.
The next day we hit the beach again and then I took a wonderful nap that afternoon. I love naps! That night we drove to Destin and ate at Tommy Bahamas before hitting the outlets. I had a pineapple mojito, crab cakes, and a decadent pineapple creme brulee!
On Sunday we drove down Scenic 30A to Seaside, FL...the cutest beach town ever! We had brunch at Great Southern, which was this adorable little bistro that served a fun take on southern food. I had the Eggs Benedict with crab cakes and fried green tomatoes and Becky had Bacon Pecan Waffles. I can't wait to go back later this summer and eat more delicious food from this place!
Kelly, this reminded me of you!
If you look just passed the white waves you will see some dark spots...those are schools of rays that swam past our condo several times a day. If people were in the water the rays would swim around them.
A view down the beach from our balcony...my favorite place on the entire trip was this balcony! Lots of reading and deep conversations happened here.
I couldn't leave FL without a little something for my little love. I found this hammerhead shark and knew he'd love it! It looked quite cute sticking out of my carry on.
But it looked cuter being held by Karsten. I also brought him a chocolate covered marshmallow. You should have seen his eyes light up when I gave that to him! He loves chocolate!
