Karsten had a fantastic birthday party the weekend after his actual birthday. His first birthday party's theme was "primary colors", his second birthday party's theme was "fish", and this year's theme was "dinosaurs!"
I had a blast planning this party; Pinterest is so full of ideas...I created a special "Karsten turns 3" board just for this year's party. You will see some Construction/Transportation ideas too....it took me awhile to settle on "dinos", but I'm so glad I did.
The decor was simple: Dinos. I used all of the dinos K already had and ordered these mini dinos off of Amazon. I used the mini dinos as cupcake toppers and in the terrariums.
Ok...now for a lot of photos! Thanks to our friend, John James, for capturing so many of the photos during the party!
This was Karsten's big b-day present! Big indeed!
Bubble party favors
We filled the turtle with sand and placed dinos and dino skeletons inside.
Inside the house I pushed the kitchen table to the window and used it to display the cake, cupcakes, and the largest terrarium. (yes, I made the terrariums and have a blog post in the works about how to make one)
I bought both the cake and cupcakes and then added the dino toppers and rock candy. I purchased the #3 at an Antique Store back in March. I knew it would look great for K's 3rd bday and as decor for our home, since we have 3 people in our family :)
I made small terrariums for the party favors. They turned out SO cute!!!!
Yes, I ordered him a t-shirt that says Karstenasaurus Rex
and shirts for Brian and I that said Daddyasaurus Rex and Mommyasaurus---Yes, we've become those parents
Yep, he's the cutest 3 year old around!
Amy and Anna
Time to sing "Happy Birthday"...Karsten loved being the center of attention.
And then Luke found a huge worm...which entertained the kids until Brian spared the poor worm by throwing it over the fence!

It was a great party! We look forward to more get togethers at our house where the kids can play on the playground.
