We are back safe and sound from our whirlwind trip to the big D. The weekend went so fast I can hardly believe it's over and we're back home. We arrived just in time to go to the rehersal dinner and then headed to Chris and Shanda's for the night. Friday Brian and I chilled at C & S's house, got lunch at Steak and Shake (a burger place that I like in STL), and then I went and got a manicure. Before I knew it...it was time to go to the wedding, which was about 30 minutes away. The wedding was sweet and simple and the reception was at a beautiful country club. We stayed until about 10:00 and then headed home and crashed. Saturday (my birthday) Chris took Blake (Shanda's 15 year old son) to his baseball games across town and Shanda and I spent the day together running errands, going to the local sb store, and having lunch at a tea room. Then we came back took naps and went to dinner with Chris and Brian at a great little restaurant in Rockwall (where Jason Castro) is from. I enjoyed a cosmopolitan, yummy brick oven margarita pizza and cake! Then we went home, changed clothes and headed out to see the fireworks, which lasted all of 1 minute...of course, that was due to us not knowing exactly what time they started. Sunday (today) Shanda and I went to her baby shower at her friend Stephanies house. Brian's mom, Aunt Gail, cousin Courtney and little cousin Caroline were there. It was so nice to see all of them and catch up with them. Due to my health the past few years, traveling to Dallas had been put on hold. Although Aunt Gail lives in Houston so we see her frequently. I slept most of the way home...the best way to make time pass on a trip and now I need to go work on those invitations some more. Here are some photos for you to enjoy.
